About National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation
"National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation" is a 1989 American holiday comedy film and the third installment in the Vacation film series starring Chevy Chase as Clark Griswold.
Clark Griswold is determined to have a “fun, old-fashioned family Christmas,” but everything that can go wrong does — from a catastrophic Christmas lights display to surprise visits from eccentric relatives, including Cousin Eddie (Randy Quaid). As Clark tries to create the perfect holiday, chaos builds around him in hilarious, slapstick ways.
The Project
There are certain iconic moments in the show and Warner Brothers wanted that to come through in the knitting of the sweaters. They didn’t want to have to change their design as it included a nod to the house lighting scene with 25,000 bulbs and the squirrel. They also wanted some small text on the sleeve just above the cuff which can sometimes be difficult to do in the knitted sweaters.
The Result
No changes to the design were required! All the details of the sweater design were included and Warner Brothers loved them. The choice of the blue knit really stood out in marketing campaigns.
