About A Christmas Story
Warner Brothers owns the distribution rights to A Christmas Story, the classic American holiday film that was released in 1983 and directed by Bob Clark.
Set in the 1940s in the fictional town of Hohman, Indiana, the story follows Ralphie Parker, a 9-year-old boy who wants just one thing for Christmas: "an official Red Ryder carbine action, 200-shot, range model air rifle!" Everyone — from his parents to his teacher and even Santa — warns him, "You'll shoot your eye out!" The film humorously chronicles Ralphie's attempts to convince everyone that the BB gun is the perfect gift. It’s know for memorable scenes-remember the leg lamp?!
The Project
Warner Brothers designed a custom Christmas sweater that represented the nostalgia, quirky humor, and relatable childhood experiences that people associate with A Christmas Story. The main focus of the sweater was the face on the front. Faces are always a little tricky to do on knitwear as the design is fully knitted in (not printed) so a couple of samples were required before the bulk production was made.
The Result
Fans of the show loved the sweaters and they made great gifts for the nostalgic amongst us
